  • EVACO, the European VAccine COverage data collection is ready to start. EVACO is a pilot project for European VAccine COverage data collection. In this first phase, EVACO system is going to be tested and it is open to those countries that agreed to pilot the system.(19-01-2012)

  • The new VENICE "Vaccination coverage assessment Survey - 2011" is ongoing. This survey will update data supplied by the gatekeepers in 2007, collecting information on methods for coverage assessment and validation, frequency and age at assessment, geographical level of assessment, collection for special risk groups, ways of data dissemination, availability of computerized immunisation registries, implementation of e-health systems, in UE/EEA countries. This survey will provide useful information for supporting the technical development of EVACO, the new European VAccination COverage data Collection system which will be tested within the end of 2011.   • The Report of the VENICE Survey on vaccination strategies in adults is available in the Members Area of the website. A scientific publication on this topic has been submitted to a scientific journal. The final report will be posted on the VENICE public area just after the process of scientific publication approval is completed. (08-09-2011)

  • The Consensus Document on the VENICE proposal for a new system for vaccination coverage data collection in EU/EEA countries has been finalized. The technical implementation of the new system will start in July. EVACO (the new European VAccination COverage data Collection system) will be tested in 8 countries before the end of 2011.   • "MESSAGE - MEaSles and rubella Self Assessment GEnerating tool", released jointly by WHO/ECDC, is available on the VENICE website in MESSAGE tool section. This self-administered, web-based questionnaire targets public health experts responsible for implementing preventive and control actions for measles and rubella. Use it to do a self-assessment of progress made towards eliminating measles and rubella and identify suggested actions to take in your country. (16-06-2011)

  • The VENICE Consortium has been enlarged. The Statens Serum Institut (SSI) of Denmark is part of it since June 2011. (16-06-2011)

  • The Report of the "2009 VENICE Survey on Tick-borne encephalitis surveillance systems and vaccination recommendations in UE/EEA countries" has been posted on the public website (Project Output Section). An article based upon the data of this survey "Reliable surveillance of tick-borne encephalitis in European countries is necessary to improve the quality of vaccine recommendations" has been published in the "Vaccine" Journal.   • The Report of the VENICE Survey on the Seasonal Influenza 2008-2009 has been posted in the Project Outputs on the public website. An article based upon the data of this survey was published in Eurosurveillance on November 4th 2010 "Differences in national influenza vaccination policies across the European Union, Norway and Iceland 2008-2009" and also this publication is available on the Public Website of VENICE.(16-11-2010)

  • A VENICE meeting will be held in Stockholm, the 9th of December 2010. A VENICE consensus document on the feasibility of a model for collecting existing data of vaccination coverage in EU/EEA countries will be presented and discussed during the meeting. All the gatekeepers will receive the draft of the document before the meeting.(16-11-2010)

  • The activities on Rotavirus, Varicella, Pandemic Flu, Pneumococcal vaccinations, HTA on rotavirus and HPV vaccines are closed. Please consult the VENICE timetable to know the status of these activities.(16-11-2010)

  • A new VENICE activity on vaccination coverage has started. It aims at producing an expert consensus of the VENICE network on a system for collecting vaccination coverage data in EU/EEA countries. The deadline for the final document is May 2011.(16-11-2010)

  • The new survey on Pandemic flu in collaboration with WHO is open. The objective of the survey is to evaluate and assess the handling and vaccination programmes of the pandemic influenza A(H1N1)2009 within Europe.The online questionnaire seeks information on vaccination policy and vaccination coverage, communication, and vaccination programme implementation. The online questionnaire is available in the Members Area of the website and the deadline is the 26th of August.(10-08-2010)

  • The new survey on Pneumococcal Vaccination in Europe is open. The aim of the survey is to update information about surveillance and vaccination strategy for pneumococcal disease in European countries; to explore data availability for evaluation of the impact of pneumococcal vaccination programmes and to identify the entity and quality of data which would be available in each member state to perform a new HTA fro this vaccine. The online questionnaire is available in the Members Area of the website and the deadline is the 31th of July.(09-07-2010)

  • The Virtual VENICE meeting was successfully held on the 16th of June. The report and presentations of the Virtual meeting are posted on the Members Area of the VENICE website. (07-07-2010)

  • The VENICE meeting was canceled due to the volcanic ash cloud. All the gatekeepers and contact points are invited to participate to the Virtual VENICE meeting that will be held on the 16th of June at 10.30 CET.   • The United States National Vaccine Program Office asked for the VENICE network collaboration in a new survey on vaccination strategies in adults. The aim is giving an overview on vaccination strategies and coverage data in adults. A simple tool "Survey-monkey" was used for collecting data. You have just received a personal link to access the survey. The deadline for filling the questionnaire is the 2nd of July. (15-06-2010)

  • The 1st VENICE II meeting will be held in Dublin on 17-18 May 2010. Results of the VENICE II activities will be presented, methodology will be discusses and future plans will be announced. (30-04-2010)

  • The deadline for survey on HPV vaccination has been surpassed; currently 27/29 countries filled in the questionnaire. Data analysis is ongoing. (30-04-2010)

  • The new survey on HPV vaccination in Europe is open: the online questionnaire is available in the Members Area of the website. The aim of the survey is to follow-up the status of introduction of HPV vaccination into Member States and investigate the organisation of HPV immunisation programmes. The survey will also explore the sub national level in order to understand the in-country vaccination programmes differences.
    The deadline for the collection of national data is the 20th of February; the deadline for the collection of sub national data is the 6th of March.(03-02-2010)

  • The preliminary results of the VENICE survey on Tick-borne encephalitis will be presented at the next International Scientific Working Group on Tick-Borne Encephalitis (ISW-TBE) meeting which will be held in Wien on the 28-29th of January 2010. (21-01-2010)

  • A new version of the VENICE Virtual Library is available!
    The VENICE Virtual Library is a document repository in theme of vaccination. Public material is collected, selected and categorized by a team of experts inside the VENICE network. It intends to be an alive and dynamic space where health professionals can find relevant documents in a fast and simple way. (20-07-2009)

  • A web based survey on National Seasonal Influenza Vaccination is being carried out among VENICE network member states.
    The specific aim is to describe seasonal influenza vaccination policies and immunisation programmes in Europe, identifying specific recommendations for different risk groups in each country, and to obtain the most recent vaccination coverage data at national and sub national level.
    The survey will be completed within mid August; after the analysis, the collected data will be spread through the VENICE website. (10-07-2009)
